About Us
I am a self-employed Lash Enhancement Specialist living in the beautiful Bayside of Brisbane, Queensland. I have two beautiful daughters Leyla and Lily. About 12 months ago Leyla was diagnosed with ADHD. Her creativity is next level. My little button Lily is also super creative and loves arts and crafts. These two girls are very busy and love doing fine motor skilled work.
As a creative artist, I have worked with my hands for many years. Enjoying crocheting, weaving, as hobbies and in the beauty industry as one of Brisbane’s most coveted Lash Enhancement Specialists for 15 years. In 2021, as part of my quest to challenge myself and my love for being creative, I started looking into polymer clay and creating them into beautiful pieces to wear. I am earring obsessed. I wanted certain designs I could not find and thought to try this out myself. This evolved as both the girls got curious and joined in whilst I was experimenting! Their creativity and interest in spending time around our dining room table together working on a project turned a couple of hours into a full day quickly. Small clay models morphed into wearable pendants, then came earrings. The progression was very organic.
We consider our jewellery collections to be small-scaled, one-off pieces of wearable art. The fact that each piece is unduplicated and unique is really important to me. Even the rare duplicated pieces will have a quirk to each set. Each one has been handled in some way by each of us and creates a unique piece every time. Each set of earrings are a limited edition - collectable and precious, completely individual piece, and the polar opposite of the mass produced fashion jewellery flooding the market. Each piece is named after someone we know and love very much.
For me, it’s all about the process! The beauty of polymer clay is that it presents me so much opportunity to explore endless colour combinations, patterns and textures without the weight of other mediums. Whilst the process is mostly my work the girls will assist with conditioning the clay, rolling and chopping shapes and cutting, whilst I do the fiddley work using drills and files and resin and then out them together, ready for picture taking. It has been interesting to see their interest in marketing our Instagram and showing them how to build a website. Depending on the day of course as some days the interest is not there so I will Zen out and make my creations while the girls, play or read occasionally coming to supervise my work.
Please come and follow us Instagram. It is where we are the most active; We love sharing the processes, and behind the scenes photos and videos, and special previews directly with my followers.
